The Rumfelt Family is one of Christian music's most dynamic secrets and is on the rise to reach a generation of young people as well as the middle age and seniors for the Kingdom of God.
The Rumfelt family comes to you with a rich musical heritage with roots in the Nantahala mountains. Their style is enriched with southern, bluegrass, and a progressive Christian flavor that is unlike any group you've heard. Chris the leader and dad has been singing and playing music for over thirty years. Chris has traveled as soloist until his children were born. He has recorded five solo albums including a national album release "The Day He Wrote My Name." He is the song writer of the group writing and arranging half of their songs. Although Chris is known more for his preaching, his ability to captivate the listener with anointed lyrics, a southern tone with a hint of country vocal, is gaining fame in the music industry. Although he still travels as a soloist and evangelist, his desire is to sing with those he loves the most…The Rumfelt Family.
Braden Rumfelt, the oldest of the twins has been noted by Crossroads Studio in Asheville, NC as having one of the most natural unique voices in Christian music. Jeff Collins said, "When that young man figures out what he can really do…it will be unbelievable." Those words motivated Braden to reach a new level vocally. His raw sense of humor and antics keeps everyone in an unusual happy place. You often find yourself being part of his comedy. It ought to be on everyone's bucket list to spend time with BR! Braden enjoys playing piano, bass, and mandolin when he's not playing baseball and basketball.
Kellen Rumfelt is the quiet one in the bunch. When Kellen speaks you need to listen. Kellen plays banjo, guitar, mandolin, and bass. He also sings bass to tenor and everything in between. His rich low tone provides a fourth part harmony that The Rumfelt Family was searching for. He enjoys playing bluegrass gospel music as well as football, baseball, and basketball. He loves the outdoors and enjoys hunting and fishing with his brother.
Calista Rumfelt aka Little Mama. Calista is the only girl in our family. She usually teams up with her mom (Crystal Rumfelt) on every restaurant or shopping venture. Calista was anointed at a very young age. Taking the stage by storm and singing solos at two years old. She loves Karen Peck, Amber Eppinette, Tammy Jones Robinette, and the Parsons. She would fit as a character on Little House on the Prairie or The Voice. Calista sings lead, soprano, and alto for the group. She enjoys playing softball, basketball, baking, and dressing up. Calista was recently Miss North Carolina for her age group and competed nationally in pageantry.
"Our duty is to lift up the name of Jesus through song where people can come to know Jesus Christ as Savior," Chris says. "We want people to walk away from hearing The Rumfelt Family and say, what a God! Jesus is the remedy for all of our problems. We want to point everyone to Him. That's what we do. That's who we are. And it's only by Gods grace that we can do it."
